The Historic Gatlinburg Inn has been designated a Tennessee Music Pathways destination, recognizing its role in Tennessee's music history. Roses planted by Wilma Maples in the 1950s still adorn the grounds. The Inn hosts songwriting festivals and served as inspiration for Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, who wrote the song 'Rocky Top' in their room at the Gatlinburg Inn in 15 minutes in 1967.
